Meet our team

Dr Cely was raised in Augusta, GA and graduated from Lakeside High School in 1999.  She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Wake Forest University in 2003 and went on to attend medical school at the University of Louisville School from 2003-2007.  She then moved back to Augusta to complete a preliminary year in internal medicine and a residency in dermatology at the Medical College of Georgia.  Upon graduation in 2011, she joined Augusta Dermatology Associates.  She also served as adjunct faculty at the Medical College of Georgia for several years.  In 2015, she joined Savannah River Dermatology, where she practiced until the fall of 2024.  She is now excited to announce the opening of Augusta Dermatology & Aesthetics Center!

Outside the office, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She is married to Jim Cely & was excited to partner with him and Duckworth Development on the buildout of the new facility.  She and Jim have two children, Dorothy (12) and James (10).  If “Dr Hawkeye” is not in the clinic, you can typically find her cheering on Dorothy and James on the field.

Summer Moon Franks, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant who graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine Physician Assistant Studies Program. She is currently finishing a Doctoral Degree in Medical Sciences at Shenandoah University to continue to build her foundation in medicine and leadership. She was born and raised in Central Florida and moved to Augusta with her husband Chance, a Waynesboro native. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking, sewing and spending time with her friends and family. 

She joined the Augusta Dermatology and Aesthetics Center team in August 2025. Prior to joining our team, she worked as a PA at the University of Florida in congenital interventional cardiology and general pediatrics as well as at Augusta University in the student health primary care clinic. Her passion for dermatology began while caring for pediatric patients with a variety of skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rashes. Today, she enjoys treating both general dermatology and cosmetic patients—offering services such as procedural cosmetics, Botox, and chemical peels. Summer is excited to provide compassionate, personalized care to our patients and to serve as an extension of Dr. Cely in helping the CSRA community look and feel their best.
